Dear Pastor Search Committee Chairperson

Enclosed you will find my resume package along with some professional/professorial references which would speak to my character, and personal references from friends that I pastored at Rehoboth. I would encourage you to visit our website, click on the Resume tab, and then click on the Cover Letter and Philosophy of Ministry links and at the bottom of these you will find some videos, which will give you some additional insight as to what we are about and how we look at doing ministry. We have a DVD of a morning worship service in which I am speaking that we can make available to your committee. We are still seeking a way to compress this hour long DVD and add it to our website here, but it is proving to be quite a challenge, so please be patient as we do seek to incorporate it into our website and have it available for pastor search committee’s in the near future.

June and I are all about relationships, small groups, investing our lives into building relationships with those in the marketplace who do not have a faith relationship with Jesus. We are committed to small groups as being an integral part of reaching people through the building of trust and personal relationships. Small groups are an excellent way to grow people who already have a faith relationship with Jesus, yet providing a safe and informal way to allow people outside the kingdom of God to come, explore the Bible, and discuss things of a spiritual nature.

We will begin our Doctor of Strategic Degree at Regent University in Virginia Beach, Virginia this May. This degree is an online degree except for a week’s residency in May for the first three years of a four-year program. I mention this so that you would know what to expect from me from a mandated educational requirement should you be interested in me as your pastor. Please understand that the pursuit of this degree cannot and will not ever supersede my pastoral responsibilities as this is our calling and first love. Prayerfully, both can be accomplished at the same time and God receive the glory from both being done with excellence.

Please take note of my recent county/community involvement and coaching, as well as my current AVID tutoring in a local middle school. Sometimes churches (some not all) specify a specific age bracket in their search for a pastor, and are easy to dismiss someone over a certain age. I would bring to your attention that there is a difference between ones chronological age and their leadership age. In taking a leadership test recently, my leadership age is that of a person in their mid-thirties. This is mentioned because I am a life-long learner, dedicated to constantly improving myself and leadership abilities through education, webinars/seminars, reading, and being involved in activities which necessitate personal and spiritual growth.

If you think that you are interested in pursuing us further, we can Skype, come at our expense if necessary, and continue to prayerfully dialogue as to whether we are God’s person to lead your church to advancing the kingdom’s work in your community and around the world.

May God bless your committee and church as you seek that special person to lead your church forward in this 21st century.

Be the Church,

LaMar
