Ministry Objective:

We desire to grow a body of believers into a dynamic church that in time influences their community, area, region and eventually the world for the cause of Christ. - 5 years partnering Rehoboth Baptist Church with Pilmoor United Methodist Church on joint Easter Sunrise community service.

We have two grown children living in the Dade City and Wesley Chapel, Florida areas. Hugh (our oldest is an English Honors teacher at Wesley Chapel High School), his wife Robyn (USF grad.), and daughters Mackenzie and Sydney. Jason and his wife Joanna live in Wesley Chapel, FL, and he works for a church in Tampa as a web designer, and is involved in church planting. They have a daughter Rachel and son Joshua.
Church Staff History
Pastor: June 2004-Dec. 31, 2009
Rehoboth Baptist Church, SBC – Maple, NC
- Led our 135-year-old church to become incorporated, establishing by-laws stating we are a conservative SBC church.
- Missions Giving – led our church each of these five years to increase our giving each year by 1% to our Associational, State, and National Convention.
- In 2005, our first full year here as Pastor, we saw our church meet and exceed our budget for the first time in the memory of the people at our church.
- Restored the spirit and community image of the church plagued by people/pastoral issues which had resulted in an approximate decrease by two-third’s of its membership and attendance over the prior three years before arriving on staff.
- Made available our fellowship hall to the Currituck County Schools, Boy Scouts, and the local Historical Committee for meetings throughout the year.
- Remained debt free as a small senior adult church while making major and minor repairs to our parsonage and church facilities.
- Began Sunday evening services.
- Restarted the choir after resolving some musical issues that had prevented this.
- Began a Tuesday morning, weekly men’s prayer time/coffee hour in our home meeting from 8:00-9:30 A.M. that is still ongoing.
- As a former landscaper, we completely reworked the front of the parsonages yard.
Non-Staff
1993-2004 Our family’s membership was at FBC Plant City, SBC – Florida. Our children were active in the youth ministry, youth choir, praise and worship band, and participated in a number of mission trips and activities.
- Filled supply in churches throughout central Florida.
- Shiloh Associational ASSIST Team for a year.
- Discipleship Training Director and teacher for several years.
- Sunday school teacher from Single Senior Adult Class to age appropriate classes for many years.
Educational Apprentice-non-paid staff. Worked with the now deceased Oscar Calhoun, Minister of Education for approximately one year under his supervision.
June served in the Deaf Ministry as an interpreter and eventually headed this ministry for a period of time, as well as serving as a Sunday school teacher.

Our family’s membership was at FBC Zephyrhills, SBC – Florida, my hometown.
- Served as Senior Adult Men’s teacher and worked in various church visitation/outreach programs.

- Filled supply and taught in Sunday school as needed.

Minister of Youth: Bethel Baptist Church, SBC – Land O’ Lakes, FL
- Began and led a Wednesday night youth service involving music and age appropriate discipleship/teaching lessons called S.W.A.T. (Spiritual Warfare and Training).Worked with the middle school and high school youth students scheduling various outings for recreational and spiritual growth as we attempted to minister to their needs both inside and outside the church walls.
- Taught a weekly adult Sunday school class.

- Served on Marion County Baptist Associational Committees: Evangelism, Joint Committee on Church Relations, and as Associational Youth Rally Director.
- Developed and hosted a Youth Ministers School of Ministry for Youth Ministers, Pastors, and youth workers in central Florida. Poly Rouse, then of FBC Orlando, and Mike Curry, then of Putnam City Baptist Church, Oklahoma City led the conference.
- Started our first session of CWT.
1984-1985
Pastor – North Main Baptist Church, SBC – Sheridan, AR
- Added a part time paid Minister of Music on staff.
- Added a part time non-paid Outreach Director on staff.
- Began and led a youth ministry on Wednesday nights called S.W.A.T. Our youth ministry also reached into the local middle and high schools.
- Held major weekend conference with Dave Hughey, then with International Evangelism Association.
- Purchased a second bus for our bus ministry and began weekly outreach program.
- Certified nationally as a Pastor/Leader in CWT and began CWT in our church.
- Became a certified WOW Instructor.
- Associational Camp Program Director, Camp Paron, for the Pulaski County Baptist Association. Primary responsibility of assembling the teachers, the curriculum and overseeing the spiritual aspect of the camp. I also taught a group of students. Students were Jr. High and High School. Led one of the adult counselors to Christ while there.
- Experienced 37 additions to the church during this pastorate.
- Held successful revival with one of the then SBC’s premier evangelists – Walter K. Ayers.
1983-1984
Woodson Baptist Church, SBC – Woodson, AR
- Ordained to the ministry here on July 1, 1984.
- Began and led a youth ministry on Wednesday nights called S.W.A.T.
- Started a weekly youth ministry outreach.
- Hosted major youth and church revivals, allowing local churches (deliberately targeted) to be a part of what God was doing in our church.
- Taught at Camp Paron, our Pulaski County Baptist Associational Camp.
- Our church finished in the top twenty in our Association in various areas of growth.
- God added 16 to our church during this time. This may not sound like a lot, but when you understand they had 10 baptisms in the prior 12 years, it is a good increase.
